Today, I am sharing a simple DIY easter wreath that I made for my front door. And it was SO easy!!
Let’s face it. Easter decorations can be expensive!
Lucky for me, a few years ago, I scored some pretty pieces on sale at Pier1 after Easter. Those pieces were my inspiration for the DIY easter wreath that I am sharing today.
My Pier1 easter decorations are adorned with those beautiful speckled eggs that are popping up everywhere. You know…….the ones they are selling for $16.99 for a box of 6!
“Thanks, but no thanks,” said my inner DIYer. I will make my own!
And that’s just what I did to use on my new wreath.
Keep reading and I’ll show you exactly how I crafted this DIY easter wreath in no time with items you can purchase at Wal-Mart, Michaels, or even The Dollar Tree.
Easter Wreath Supplies:
- hot glue gun
- glue sticks
- wreath base
- ribbon (the ribbon I used is no longer available, but here and here are some other good options)
- flowers
- moss
- crafting eggs (I used 3 cartons of eggs. I painted them with antique white paint, then splattered them with gold paint)
- scissors
- ruler
Now, lets get started!
Step 1
Cut your ribbon into 9-inch pieces (shown above) and clip the corners at a diagonal angle as shown below.
Step 2
Now tie the ribbon to the wreath base on alternating outer and inner sides (see photo below).
You can substitute the ribbon with deco mesh or tulle for this wreath if you prefer. Get creative and use what you have on hand to save you some money.
Step 3
Now, hot glue the eggs to the base. I applied glue to the front and back of the base for extra security.
Be careful not to burn your fingers!
Make sure to scatter your eggs in multiple directions for a cohesive look. I used 4 easter eggs per section of the wreath.
Step 4
Add flowers near each piece of ribbon. I used the flower stem to attach it to the base and then added hot glue for additional security.
Step 5
Add moss or any other fillers to fill in the gaps.
I have to admit, I was a little intimidated by the moss. It wasn’t nearly as difficult as I was afraid of. I simply shoved it in all the cracks and added a little hot glue to secure it in place.
Make it your own!
I wanted to keep it simple, but you can customize this wreath in SO many different ways! You could add a bird’s nest, a birdhouse, a bunny, a bow, or an easter sign. Below are a few ideas of things you can add that I found at The Dollar Tree and Michaels.

I wanted to share with you how easy it is to make your very own Easter egg wreath.
You don’t need a lot of skill, time, or money to make a beautiful wreath to jazz up your Easter decorations.
